Commissioning of the FRONTSH1P at Events and Workshops
25/04/2022

Author: Fabio Magrassi

In the first months of the project, we had the opportunity to introduce FRONTSH1P to many stakeholders by participating in three dissemination events:

  • 9th ECTP (European Construction, built environment and energy efficient building Technology Platform) conference in Madrid on 2-3 December 2021;
  • “All we want for Christmas is a Circular World!!” workshop in Genoa on 14 December 2021; and
  • Re-think Circular Economy forum in Milan on 10-11 February 2022.

Due to the heterogeneous composition of the audience, we decided to present the project in a light and friendly way, using the narrative language of a fairy tale and a particular hero from the Italian literature: Dante Alighieri. The use of Dante is a celebration of the seven hundredth anniversary of the death of the efficacious writer.

This particular way of presenting a highly technical project was a great success and the audience was impressed by the ambitious goals for the Łódzkie region in 2030, which will be achieved thanks to the expected project results. Especially during the ECTP conference in Madrid, many partners were interested in learning more about the four circular systemic solutions. There was also particular interest in the potential policy development of the region under its Circular Economy Action Plan and the replication potentials in Greece, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Finally, we also had the opportunity to participate with a virtual stand at the Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference. The conference is organised by the Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and is one the most important meeting of the European circular economy community. Already in its fifth year, the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee, together with the French Presidency organised this flagship event. During the two-day event, numerous people stopped by our virtual booth to ask questions about the project and the implementation of the results. Many of them were particularly interested in learning more about Green Deal projects and how to get involved in making a difference through direct action. With great surprise, one of the questions we received was about the possibility to follow the project results on Instagram, a social media platform not often used to share information about European projects. Therefore, we will in future explore further ways to improve stakeholder participation and dissemination opportunities for the project.
